Pinnacles Newsletter: August 2021

A Note from Jill

Dear Beloved Community,

We are prepped for launch! In just a few short weeks our founding faculty will launch Pinnacles Prep’s learning model. It is an emotional moment for us, as we see our efforts come to fruition. If you are reading this, chances are you’ve been on this journey too, and we are grateful for you and your vision and advocacy for something different in education for the young people of our valley. Having a public school choice option is a beautiful moment in history for the Wenatchee Valley. I’d like to especially shout out my co-founders Rick Wray and Sara Rolf for their vision, unwavering belief in community, sweat equity, and collaboration. This school is made up of the bold dreams of so many people. We will do our very best to see that vision through so that more scholars can get what they need. We love you, we see you, we honor you. Please come and celebrate with us for a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 20th at noon, here on our beautiful Wenatchee Community Center Campus. -

-Jill

Support a founding scholar!

Give a Gift Card for our Scholars.

The Founding Faculty of Pinnacles Prep are very excited to launch our inaugural school year. We also realize that many of our scholars aren't able to afford to go "back-to-school shopping.” Since we are all about equity, we would like to provide gift cards for families who could use support with back to school shopping! This is an all call to folks who want to help!! If you feel inclined to donate, please drop off any gift cards to our main office with Angelica, on or before August 20th so that we can distribute needed cards to families at our ribbon cutting. Ideas for gift cards include: Target, Old Navy, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Costco, or other local businesses. Thank you for your support!

  • Scholars will not be required to wear a uniform for this school year.  See dress code information below:

    Dress Code: The purpose of the Pinnacles dress code is to create a safe and respectful community where scholars can place their sole focus on learning.  The dress code is in effect from the start of the school day until the scholar leaves campus.  All scholars and staff are asked to show proper attention to personal cleanliness, health, neatness, safety, and suitability of clothing for school activities.   • Cause actual distraction from or disturbance in any school activity or actually interfere with the participation of a student in any school activity;

  • Create a hazard to the safety of him/herself or others;

  • Create a health hazard.

  • Consistent with the above guidelines, hair, including facial hair, may be worn at any length or style. Clothing may be of any fashion, style, or design, as determined by the scholar  and his or her parents.
